Isolation Ward

Aerosol refers to a relatively stable suspension system formed by uniformly dispersing liquid or solid particles in gases.

Microorganism aerosol has great influences on the life health of human beings. 1~5μm microorganism aerosol particles can be connected to alveolus pulmonis directly, which most easily infect human bodies. There are more than 500 kinds of P pathogenic bacteria in the whole world, while more than 100 kinds of bacteria are propagated by aerosol, taking the first place. P pathogenic bacteria include vitriol cholerae propagated by esophagus, hemorrhagic fevers propagated by skin and contact, etc. Nosocomial infection in China is mainly based on respiratory tract infection. Particularly, H1N1 influenza virus is the most typical aerosol transmission. 6~10μm particles are easy to deposit in small bronchia; 10~30μm particles are easy to deposit in bronchia; particles of larger than 30μm are deposited in trachea; and larger particles are deposited in pharynx, throat, nostril, etc. Researching the diffusion rule of microbiological aerosol in isolation wards will provide scientific basis for large-quantity construction of efficient isolation wards and correct usage thereof.
